Hey everyone! I can’t believe that Christmas is almost here and it is almost 2018!! Today, I wanted to share with you three things that you can look forward to for Horse Chats in the New Year. I want to thank you all for being such loyal subscribers and sticking with me for another awesome year 🙂 I filmed a short video for you to tell you the three things that you can stay tuned for! Enjoy.
Massive wildfires are continuing to rage throughout California. It has been so devastating and disheartening to see the posts and videos on social media showing the impact that the fires have made on California. Within minutes of the fire starting, it was already roaring over the mountains. However, amidst the devastation and tragedy, we do see hope through the many stories being shared.
Many people and animals have been affected, including horses. Some owners are facing the decision to set their horses free to escape from the fires, not knowing if they are going to survive or not. 500 horses were stabled at the San Luis Rey Downs Training Center and most of them were set free to run from the flames. From that training center more than 46 racehorses were killed by the flames or smoke inhalation. Trying to save six horses, a horse trainer was also seriously injured, suffering from third-degree burns, and is currently in a coma at the UC-San Diego Medical Center. Some horses are being found and treated while others are still lost and possibly starving.
Hey! Welcome back to Horse Chats. Recently, I came across an amazing equestrian clothing brand called the TKEQ Shop. The shop has t-shirts, sweatshirts, saddle pads for your horses, and more! The TKEQ Shop also sponsor many incredibly-talented horse riders that have been very successful. Today, I am going to tell you about these riders and what they have accomplished. All of them have inspired me to strive to become a better rider and have taught me to never give up on reaching my goals.
The TKEQ Shop is currently running a campaign called the #ridelikeagirl campaign. I feel like these three riders truly exemplify what it means to “ride like a girl”. To me “riding like a girl” means to ride with grace, strength, and diligence. TKEQ was also kind enough to send me two of their t-shirts to show to you, including their signature #ridelikeagirl shirt and their Big EQ t-shirt.
