Do you have an equestrian bucket list? I sure do! I love to create bucket lists because it really gives me something to work towards and dream of. I recently made an equestrian style bucket list and I thought that today I would share my top 10 with you! Maybe some of my goals on my bucket list will spark some inspiration for yours 😊 Enjoy!
#1: Participate in a Horse Show
I have not yet participated in a Horse Show, but this is definitely on my bucket list. I have been continuing to work with the horses I ride in hopes that soon both my horse and I will be ready.
#2: Travel to Kentucky to attend Rolex
Now, if you don’t know what Rolex is, it is a three-day event with dressage, show jumping, and cross-country. First of all, Kentucky has the most gorgeous horse barns EVER and there are tons of famous horse riders that attend Rolex. It is definitely the place to be if you are a horse lover!
#3: Have an Equestrian Photo Shoot by Brandon Woelfel
I have admired Brandon Woelfel’s work for a LONG time! His photos are beautiful and definitely show his incredible talent for photography. When I was looking at his photos, I came across a photo he took of a girl and her horse with fairy lights. I was officially in LOVE with that picture! It was then that I added this dream to my bucket list of getting Brandon Woelfel to take photos with my horse and I. Hopefully one day I can check this off my bucket list. 😊
#4: Ride Horses on the Beach in Hawaii
Imagine hopping up on a horse and galloping on the sandy beaches of Hawaii with the breeze blowing through your hair and the sound of the crashing ocean waves. I mean, who wouldn’t want to do that?? My Dad even said to me that if we ever go to Hawaii that he is definitely going to be riding horses on the beach. If you know my dad, he is not exactly a horse person (ha-ha).
#5: Meet the Cast of the TV Series, Heartland
Have you watched the show, Heartland? If you haven’t, you definitely should! Heartland is such a fantastic show and I have been hooked for 11 seasons. It would be my dream to meet the cast of Heartland. My equestrian idol, Alisha Newton, stars as Georgie in the show and it would be amazing to meet her as well!
#6: Travel to See the Famous Lipizzaner Stallions in Vienna
Have you heard or seen of the Lipizzaner Stallions in Vienna? Let’s just say… they are INCREDIBLE! These horses perform at the Spanish Riding School and demonstrate the movements of classical dressage including the highly controlled, stylized jumps. I would love to see these horses in action!
#7: Take a Lesson with My Equestrian Idol, Alisha Newton
As I was saying, my equestrian idol is Alisha Newton. She has a horse named Aflame and her riding specialty is show jumping. It would be amazing to be able to take a lesson with her and ride together. It would definitely be something I would remember forever!
#8: Attend the Kentucky Derby
#8 on my bucket list is attending the Kentucky Derby. My grandparents were able to attend the Kentucky Derby race a couple of years ago and hearing about it has inspired me to want to go as well. The Kentucky Derby is a horse race that happens once a year usually in May. It is held at Churchill Downs, one of the most legendary race tracks ever. The Kentucky Derby is a once in a lifetime experience!
#9: Attempt a Cross-Country Course
Have you ever attempted a cross-country course? Recently, I have been really wanting to try out cross-country. I have seen many videos and pictures and the sport looks so fun and exciting!
#10: Buy Breeches from Aztec Diamond Equestrian
Lastly, I would love to be able to one day buy a pair of breeches from Aztec Diamond Equestrian. Aztec Diamond Equestrian can be a bit expensive, but their breeches look so comfortable and cute!
I hope that you enjoyed reading my top 10 goals on my bucket list! My challenge for you today is to take a piece of paper or your notes on your phone and write out your equestrian bucket list and what your goals are for horse-riding! It definitely helps to write them down and always keep your list on hand for future reference. 😉 Let me know in the comments below what is #1 on your bucket list for horse-riding whether it is to ride on a trail ride in the mountains or to learn how to ride bareback. I would love to chat!
