Happy Monday everyone! So, today I am doing a review on a blog called Strides for Success. I have been a subscriber of strides for success for a while now and I have learned a lot from their posts and podcasts. The founder, Lorna Leeson, originally from Ireland, moved to South Africa and bought a farm. Lorna records weekly audio riding lessons, blogs regularly, creates riding fitness challenges, and also provides lesson workbooks. Her aim is to get you to be comfortable in the saddle and shows you how to communicate with your horse effectively. I am going to share with you, my top 3 favorite things about her blog.
30 Day Riding Fitness Challenge
First of all, Lorna launched a 30-Day Riding Fitness Challenge that is incredible! This challenge is all about getting fit as a horseback rider. Horseback riders use so many different muscles than other sports do, so her challenge is geared directly towards horse riders. She provides workbooks, podcast riding lessons, a private facebook group for support, and daily workouts. The best thing of all about this challenge is it is completely FREE! I highly suggest checking it out!
Riding Lesson Podcasts
The second thing that I love about Strides for Success is Lorna’s riding lesson audio podcasts. If you do not know what a podcast is, it is basically a digital audio that you can download and listen to. Lorna creates daily and weekly riding lessons on different skills and topics that you can listen to while you ride. So basically she is your virtual trainer! For example, one of her latest podcasts is talking about the relationship between your inside leg and your outside rein. Lorna releases one podcast per week for FREE with the option of accessing four additional podcasts for the rest of the week. To download the four additional podcasts, you have to buy her Strides Premium Package to gain access to them. If you don’t have a consistent riding trainer and are looking for an easy way to improve your riding for a low cost, I definitely suggest you check out her podcasts because all of the information she includes is so informative and most of all, loads of fun!
Strides for Success Community
Last, but not least, I love that Strides for Success has built a horse riding community through social media. Lorna has created a very personal community where horse riders of all levels can come together to share their passion and love for horses. As a part of Lorna’s Premium Package, she does offer a private community as well. Also, if you sign up for her FREE 30 Day Fitness Challenge, she has facebook support groups to help you feel connected and stay strong.
I hope you have enjoyed this review! “Strides for Success” is an amazing blog and I highly suggest you go check it out as I think all of us benefit from a riding trainer in person or virtual to mentor us throughout our riding journey.
When you visit “Strides for Success”, make sure to tell Lorna that Keeley from www.horsechatwithkeeley.com sent you there!
Until next time… don’t forget to hug your horse!
