HAPPY 1st YEAR ANNIVERSARY HORSE CHATS!!!
Today marks one year since I started my equestrian blog, Horse Chats with Keeley. I feel so blessed to have had and continue to be on this exciting journey. One year ago, in October 2016, I decided to try something new and start a blog. Starting something new can be nerve wracking, but can also be super rewarding.
So, I decided to go full throttle ahead designing my blog, even though I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I finally launched my blog and was so excited and nervous to share my experiences and stories with the world. I quickly began to meet new people including blogger friends and was thrust into the online world (let me tell ya, it’s huge). My ultimate goal in creating Horse Chats was to share my love for horse riding and to “inspire others to ride”. That is the Horse Chats story in a nutshell…
As I reflect on the past year, I have learned so many things about myself, others, and of course, the horses I ride. Today, I want to share 3 things I have learned through trying something new.
I have learned to:
#1 – Never EVER Give Up
I have to admit, trying something new like blogging isn’t easy. It’s like running a marathon with little hills and maybe even large mountains along the way. To be honest, I have had times throughout the past year when I have felt like giving up as often building something (anything) will take longer than you initially anticipate. Even though at times it was hard, I kept pushing forward and it definitely was worth it. If I had chosen to give up, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to share my stories and experiences with all of you. So, trust me, do not give up! If you are in a rough spot or you are trying something new and it is not working out, keep pushing forward because you will see your progress…even if it takes a bit longer to get there.
#2 – Have Fun
I know you probably have heard this before, but this is super important in trying something new. I had to learn this right from the get go. If you are not able to have fun, it won’t last long. I quickly learned that if I just saw my blog as a business and didn’t have fun and enjoy it along the way, what’s the point in having a blog? Blogging isn’t just about the subscribers and followers, but it is about meeting new people and having fun while doing it. Whenever you try something new, make sure to HAVE FUN and enjoy the “ride”!
#3 – Push Yourself to Your Creativity Limits
Probably the most important thing I have learned through trying something new, like blogging, is to venture outside of “my box” and push my creativity limits. If I didn’t push myself just a little bit outside my box, I wouldn’t have arrived at the place I am now. I had to dig deep some weeks to get creative, come up with new ideas or topics, and expand my knowledge base. Everyday I strive for fresh inspiration that I can add to my blog. If you are trying something new, push yourself. Take yourself just a little bit over the edge and you will begin to see passions and abilities you never knew you had.
Trying something new can open you up to a whole new world and can teach you many important tips. If you have tried something new this year, today is your day to celebrate too! Celebrate with Horse Chats and treat yourself. You are on your way to success.
Horse Chats has exciting things in store for the future! I am so happy that you are here to be a part of it. I appreciate each and every one of you for sticking with Horse Chats throughout the year!
If you know someone who loves horses and riding, tell them about Horse Chats.
Now, don’t forget to hug your horse! Here’s to another year ahead!
